More than 963 million people are undernourished in the world.  Hunger manifests itself in many ways.  Long-term impacts of protein deficiencies include stunting in children and heightened susceptibility to illness of children and adults.

Tens of millions of children reach school age stunted mentally and physically because of undernutrition.  Soy protein is already proven valuable in school feeding programs around the world.  The availability of school meals not only nelps children learn, but it gives an incentive for families to send children, particularly girls to school. An estimated 77 million children do not go to school, and 150 million children drop out of school before attaining a basic primary education.

Protein-rich food is an essential tool in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Proper nutrition can help the more than 33 million people that are living with HIV/AIDS to lead productive lives and care for their families. An estimated 15 million children worldwide have lost one or both parents to AIDS, and many of those children live in chronic hunger.

Supporting the World Soy Foundation allows you to harness the generosity of America and the abundance of our agriculture to make a diference in the lives of today’s children and their families. Children are the promise of a better world tomorrow.

The World Soy Foundation offers services, knowledge and soy to people who need them around the world at no cost. The Foundation is already active in Africa, Asia and Central America.

As a part of the world community concerned about world hunger and nutrition security, your financial support demonstrates the power and potential of collective charity. You, like the farmers who started this Foundation, show the world that when people work together for a common goal, the world is a better place

Donation Opportunities

The World Soy Foundation is chartered in the State of Missouri as a 501 c3 corporation, so your contribution to the foundation is tax-deductible. Here are a few suggestions on how you can donate:

Acre Challenge Appeal

Donate the value of ONE ACRE OF SOYBEANS that you have produced on your own farm operation to help alleviate starvation around the world. Use the formula of $10.00 per bushel (or the average price at which you sold your crop) and apply that to your average yield to calculate your donation. You may want to donate more than one acre, there is no limit. You determine your own contribution.

Soybean-producing states are challenging each other to pledge to the 2010 WSF Acre Challenge Appeal.  Our goal for 2010 is to raise 450 acres and generate a quarter million dollars.  Learn more about how to donate the value of one acre of soybeans.

Another option is DIRECT GIFTING OF GRAIN. The direct gifting of grain offers the farmer/producer, and/or the materially participating landlord, a way to make a gift of grain, and improve his/her bottom line. Learn more about Direct Gifting of Grain.

Gifts of Cash

Gifts of cash or securities should be the most common forms of charitable gifts. If you itemize, a gift of cash is deductible for federal income tax purposes to the fullest extent allowed by law. Your gift will be promptly acknowledged, providing a tax receipt for your records.

Memorial and Tribute Gifts

Memorial and tribute gifts honor special people and occasions. The World Soy Foundation is a unique way to recognize those who have touched your life. An announcement card acknowledging the special gift is sent to the honoree or family or the loved one.

Corporate Employee Matching

Many corporations have adopted corporate matching gift plans to help support humanitarian efforts of different organizations. If your company has a matching gift program, you may request a matching-gift form from the human resource department. After completing your part of the form, send it directly to the World Soy Foundation. Matching funds will then be processed and you will be notified that your gift was received. The World Soy Foundation has been granted 501c3 charitable organization status.  Your original gift is tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law.

Other Non-Monetary Donations
